Macquarie University Cross-Institutional Enrollment Details Attention all Macquarie Students - the current University policy states that students can only receive credit points for concurrent studies at the 100 or 200 level. This means that Macquarie students who wish to study 300 or honours level subjects via the Access Grid are not eligible for credit points at this time. Concurrent Studies Concurrent Studies are for students currently enrolled in a bachelor degree program at Macquarie University and would like to concurrently undertake unit/s at another Australian University to count towards the requirements for the Macquarie degree. To apply for Concurrent Studies you must be taking some Macquarie University units, in the year in which you are taking concurrent studies at another university. Upon satisfactory completion of the unit/s and submission of an original transcript, credit will be assessed. However, it is important to be aware of the conditions which apply to concurrent studies and the way credit is calculated or you may find you are not eligible for credit. Please note that Cross Institution Study at Macquarie University is different to Concurrent Studies at Macquarie University. Request for letter to Other Institution
If your intended university requires a letter from Macquarie University you can obtain one by completing the 'Request For Letter For Another University' on Page 6 of the Concurrent Studies Application Form. Once completed you may lodge the form at Student Enquiry Service. CROSS INSTITUTION STUDYApplications for Semester 2, 2008 are now closed. Applications for Semester 1 2009 will open in August 2008. Cross Institution Study is for students who are Commonwealth supported and who are currently enrolled within an undergraduate award at another Higher Education Provider but wish to undertake nominated units at Macquarie University which will count towards that particular undergraduate award at the other Higher Education Provider. For the purposes of Cross Institution study, Macquarie University is the 'Host University'; accordingly your current University is the 'Home University'. International Students currently enrolled in an undergraduate award at another Higher Education Provider should contact Macquarie International at http://www.international.mq.edu.au/ Please note that Concurrent Studies at Macquarie University is different from Cross Institution Study at Macquarie University. How Do I ApplyApplicants within the Sydney Metropolitan Area must obtain academic approval from the appropriate Macquarie University Department/Division prior to lodging the application. This involves coming to the Macquarie University campus and consulting the course convenor in the relevant Department. Approval must be in the form of a signature from the Department on the front page of the application. Emails/letters are not acceptable forms of approval. Applications for Semester 2, 2008 are now closed. Applications for Semester 1, 2009 will open in August 2008.
What Documentation Is Required: All applicants need to ensure that that the completed application form and supporting documents are lodged together, well in advance of the deadline. Please obtain the following documents from your Home University and submit them to Macquarie University with your application:
A simple printout of results will not be accepted. If you do not yet have an official transcript, please request one immediately from your Home University as these can take time to obtain.

Please complete the form and include the following information: Withdrawing From UnitsAs an enrolled Cross Institution student you cannot add any units to your approved program. To withdraw from a cross institution unit you must email the Coursework Studies Section and specify that you are Cross Institution Student and list unit(s) you wish to withdraw from. Any withdrawal from a Cross Institution unit must be completed before the Census date. Failure to do so will lead to both academic and financial penalties.
