Speaker: Christian Voigt Title: Quantum Symmetry Abstract: Like virtually any other mathematical structure, the notion of a graph comes with a natural concept of symmetry, specifying what it means for two graphs to be isomorphic. In recent years, the idea of quantum symmetry as emerged, leading to an intriguing new way of comparing graphs which is more flexible than âclassicalâ isomorphism. In this talk I will explain what quantum symmetry is and discuss some basic examples, indicating connections with the theory of operator algebras and beyond.
